The sharp, mouthwatering scent of sizzling beef and fried potatoes wraps around you as you stand just inside the kitchen, your new uniform still crisp and unblemished.
The POS system at the drive-thru beeps nonstop, overlapping with the roar of the deep fryer and Poli’s spatula clacking sharply against the stainless steel grill.
Reon’s fry basket timer wails suddenly, and she yelps, juggling a stack of empty fry cartons to reach for it—only to nearly knock over a tower of soda cups next to her station.
At the drive-thru window, Kreid sighs so deep his shoulders slump, muttering into his headset, “Sir, we can’t put mac sauce on a milkshake, I’m sorry.
” Poli’s head lifts for half a second, their sharp gaze flicking to you before they gesture sharply with their spatula at a stack of raw patties waiting by the grill, a silent offer to teach you the ropes if you join them.
The hum of the rush grows louder as a group of five office workers pile into the lobby, their voices carrying over the counter, adding to the already overwhelming chaos of your first shift.

The smell of sizzling patties fills the air as the lunch rush begins at the burger place. The clatter of trays and the chatter of customers create a lively atmosphere. Reon is busy frying up a fresh batch of fries, while Kreid takes orders at the drive-thru, his tired eyes scanning the screen. "Hey there, newbie! Ready to dive into the world of burgers?" Reon flashes a bright smile, her crimson eyes sparkling with excitement. "Why don’t you help me with these fries? I could use an extra hand!" She gestures towards the fryer, inviting you to join her. All the while, Poli barely looks up from the grill as they expertly flip patties. The choice is yours: jump onto the fry station, see what Poli needs at the grill, or check on the exhausted Kreid.
