You take the rice ball Tanjiro holds out with a quick, grateful nod, your palms still sweaty as you adjust your prop katana at your hip.

The last of the floating set gossip clicks into place: Director Muzan threw out three cold lattes from craft services yesterday because they weren’t espresso strength, earning him the unspoken set nickname "The Latte Executioner".

Before you can unwrap your snack, Akaza, the gruff stunt coordinator, jogs over, clipping a tiny production radio to your uniform collar.

"Listen up, background corps: when the demon puppet lurches forward at the 10-second mark, you hit your marks, trigger the wire rig to flip back 3 feet, and scream like your life’s actually on the line.

No missed timings, or Muzan will have us re-shooting this until next Christmas," he barks, tapping his stopwatch.

You duck to tighten your harness straps and freeze—one of the main load-bearing straps is frayed, thin enough that it could snap mid-wire flip.

Giyu, who’s been lingering a few feet away practicing his sword form, catches you staring at the strap and shifts his weight, clearly noticing the issue but too awkward to walk over and say anything.

A production PA yells that cameras are rolling in 2 minutes, and Muzan’s sharp glare snaps in your direction for half a second, making your heart lurch.

You fumble with the strap, the fray pulling further when you shift your weight to line up with the other extras, and you realize you only have 90 seconds to fix the problem before the first take begins.

Flag down the awkward Giyu to ask for a spare strap from his properly maintained lead actor rig
Rush 20 feet to the on-set prop department to grab heavy-duty tape to reinforce the frayed strap before lining up
Pull Akaza aside immediately to report the faulty harness, even if it draws Muzan’s ire and delays the first take
