She repeats her question, sharp with impatience, and you can feel the curse sealing your mouth shut against any lie you might stitch together to salvage the sale.

The shoddy silver necklace she’s eyeing is nothing more than a cheap knockoff you hammered together last week from scrap metal, worth barely a copper, and the curse will drag that truth screaming from your lips if you don’t act fast.

Let the curse speak the truth, then pivot to pitch the noblewoman a genuinely well-made silver bracelet you have stored in your stall
