Sunbeams cut through sandalwood incense smoke, gilding the edges of your unoccupied imperial throne as the Grand Historian—silver-haired, his indigo robes stained with decades of ink—steps forward to lay a leather-bound imperial chronicle at the base of the dais.
The distant chatter of courtiers planning your coronation feast fades to a murmur as he lifts his head, his sharp eyes waiting for you to set the course of your reign, the first and most foundational choice of your rule looming before you.
